Given that seasonality and the sourcing of good local produce is the current
trend, chef /owner, Fabrice Bouteloup at Barley Bree changes the menus every week
in order to reflect the changing seasons. We use as many local suppliers
as possible taking advantage of all Perthshire has to offer – wild
garlic and chanterelles in season, delicious soft fruits through the summer,
root vegetables, beef, lamb, freshwater fish….the list goes on. The
shooting season also brings an abundance of game: venison, pheasant, wood
pigeon and partridge all feature on our menus at various times of the year.
Fabrice’s multigrain homemade bread has become hugely popular with
our regular customers to such an extent that we now make bread available
for people to take home. It can also be ordered in advance.
Please have a look at our sample menus. Lunch costs from around £12.50
for 3 courses but we are happy for those with limited time to drop in for
just a bowl of soup (served with our delicious bread and creamy French butter)
or one of the small dishes from our à la carte menu.
Whilst dinner guests choose from our delicious à la carte menu, Fabrice
is also able to offer a 5 course tasting menu when requested in advance.
Children are very welcome and, although we currently don’t have a
children’s menu, we can offer half portions from the main menu. Fabrice
will also be happy to cook pasta or sausage and mash or anything else that
would appeal to your child. Please ask in advance if possible.
We also cater for groups and private events where you can choose your own
