The conservation village
of Muthill is set amidst beautiful rolling
countryside. It has its own golf course and
is well placed as a base, from which to explore
Perthshire. Gleneagles Hotel with 3 famous
golf courses is only 9 miles away, and St
Andrews and Carnoustie are also within easy
reach. Crieff which is only 3 miles away has
a beautiful 18-hole golf course. As well as
golf, the area has much to offer hill walkers,
hunters, cyclists and fishermen. There is
lovely driving through the glens to the scenic
Highland lochs of Loch Tay and Loch Earn,
and fishing in the rivers Earn and Almond.
If you are looking for a relaxing weekend
break with delicious food and quality wines
and malt whiskies, we are only 48 miles from
Edinburgh airport and 54 miles from Glasgow
airport.
Local attractions include magnificent Drummond
Castle Gardens which is 1 mile from the village,
Stirling Castle is approximately 30 minutes
drive to the south and the city of Perth is
about 16 miles to the north.
For the less active, the area has interesting
historical sites, wonderful flora and fauna
and speciality shopping.
Seasonal Activities
Muthill is surrounded by
thousands of acres of prime shooting estates.
The season kicks off on the glorious 12th
of August with grouse, moving on to wildfowl
from 1st September. Pheasant shooting starts
1st October. Stalking is available all year
round.
The local estate also offers simulated shoots
which are already very popular in England
and are available all year round too. Look
